Most recently, Margi edited two short films which screened in the 2026 Sydney Film Festival. DATE 3 - in competition in the Dendy Awards, winning writer/director Cristabel Sved “Best Director”, and A GRIEF ENCOUNTER by writer/director James McLaren in the Proper Loved Up First Nations program.
As editor of feature film SISSY, she received an Australian Screen Editor’s Guild nomination for Best Editing in a Feature Film. The film locally and internationally, garnering writer/directors Hannah Barlow and Kane Senes AACTA nominations for Best Film, Best Direction and Best Lead Actress (Aisha Dee) in the Feature Film category. Internationally Sissy received the Audience Award at both Sitges – Catalonian International Fantastic Film Festival and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. In addition achieving a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes after its world premier at SXSW Film Festival in March 2022 where it received a North American sale with SHUDDER. Sissy currently screens on Netflix.
Margi has been working professionally in the Australian film and television industry for 25 years. Training in drama on premier series such as LOVE MY WAY, FARSCAPE, MY PLACE, DEVIL’S DUST. In her early years Margi directed documentary and factual series for Seven Network, Nine Network and ABC TV in both Australia and the USA.
Now securely seated in Editorial, both Drama and Documentary she has worked on a list of award winning feature films and television series as Editor and Assembly Editor and First Assistant Editor, over the last 20 years.
Margi’s credits include Shannon Murphy’s feature film debut BABYTEETH [Assembly Editor] which screened in competition at Venice International Film Festival 2019 and again with Shannon Murphy and Steve Evans SBS/ Lingo Pictures ON THE ROPES [Assembly Editor] which was nominated for an AACTA 2019 for Best Miniseries.
The Melbourne Web Festival 2018, awarded Margi Best Editing for Blake Fraser’s PATRICIA MOORE, a drama series which also placed 3rd in the 2018 Web Series World Cup with 31 Festival Award nomination and 11 wins including screening at Tribeca TV Festival.
